Essentialism

by Greg McKeown

8/10

Key Ideas:

Only a few things really matter.
If you don’t prioritize your life, someone else will.
Get rid of the non essential.

Other interesting notes:

I can do anything but not everything.
The Paradox of Success: the more options we have, the more we feel distracted from what would otherwise be our highest level of contribution.
Almost everything is unimportant.
Make a choice: which problem do you want?
Is this the very most important thing I should be doing with my time and resources right now?
Be constantly learning.
Allow yourself to play.
Sleep and recover.
HELL YEAH! Or no.
Use no to your power, just be graceful when you reject opportunities.
Routine is important.

Thoughts on the book:

Great read if you feel overwhelmed. Will probably become even more relevant over time.
