Key Ideas:
Black swan – rare, extreme impact. Only in retrospect people say “it was obvious”
People are terrible are predicting black swans, especially experts.
Systems and people should aim to benefit from disorder and chaos.
Other interesting notes:
Don’t ask the barber if you need a haircut – and don’t ask an academic if what he does is relevant.
“Averages” are dangerous. If you cross a river that is, on average, 4 feet deep, you will likely drown.
